If USB 3.1 eXtensible controller doesn't get a code 45 error, it works properly otherwise I don't get full speeds (probably works through the 3. I am getting several errors on both USB 3. The problems come up when connecting a USB mass storage device (Asus enclosure + Samsung M2 NVME) directly to the USB 3.1 gen 2 ports on the motherboard. The issue started towards the end of last year (if I remember correctly) and has persisted through a fresh install of Windows. The 3.1 host controller has the latest driver (1.662 - nov 2020) and also the latest firmware (mobo bios is out of date however). Error is attached.ĭoesn't happen every time I plug the cable in. It can take many attempts of reconnecting/restarting/uninstalling drivers before it finally works.įinally, while this is happening I get WHEA logger warnings in Event viewer every second. If I manage to open the properties of the controllers in time, one of them will usually say no drivers are installed (but in the drivers tab there is a driver) and after the 5 seconds, code 45 error reconnect etc. Within 5 seconds "something disconnected sound" plays and these 2 disappear from device manager. I mainly use an Ethernet adapter with the USB C port so when I plug it in, I get the "Something plugged in sound" and Realtek USB GbE Family controller and Intel USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller appear in device manager.
